Harvard University Tops 2011 U.S. News & World Report College Rankings

Harvard University topped the 2011 U.S. News and World Report College Rankings, which were released late last week.

 

This is the third consecutive year that Harvard was ranked first in the rankings for National Universities.

 

Last year, the Cambridge, MA school was tied with Princeton University for the top spot. This year, Princeton is ranked No. 2, followed by two fellow Ivy League institutions: Yale University and Columbia University. Stanford University and University of Pennsylvania round out the top five, tied at No. 5.

 

California Institute of Technology and Massachusetts Institute of Technology are both tied at No. 7, while Dartmouth College, Duke University and University of Chicago, all of which are tied at No. 9, round out the top ten.

 

Northwestern University, Johns Hopkins University, Washington University in St. Louis, Brown University, Cornell University, Rice University, Vanderbilt University, University of Notre Dame and Emory University close out the top 20.

 

Georgetown University, University of California-Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Southern California and University of California-Los Angeles complete the top 25 schools.
