Money Magazine Releases 2008 "America's Top Places to Live"; Plymouth, MN Tops List

Money Magazine announced Monday that Plymouth, MN wins the No. 1 spot on the 2008 version of the annual list of "America's Best Places to Live."

Plymouth, the small Minnesota town, is followed by Fort Collins, CO; Naperville, IL; Irvine, CA; Franklin Township, NJ;  Norman, OK; Round Rock, TX; Columbia/Ellicott City, MD; Overland Park, KS; and Fishers, IN.

The 2008 list of "America's Best Places to Live," which details the nation's top 100 most livable towns and cities, will appear in the August issue of Money Magazine, on newsstands July 21.

Plymouth's median family income is $111,631, almost $20,000 more than the Best Places average. However, the median home price ($288,950) is just a few thousand lower than the average.

Despite the economic crisis that the nation is facing, Plymouth has 50,000 jobs that keep residents working there. As far as education, Plymouth's main school district is ranked among the top three in the state.

Money Magazine is the nation's largest personal finance magazine. With nearly two million subscribers and newsstand buyers and 7.9 million total readers, it remains twice as large as its nearest competitors. The Money Magazine website is located at http://www.money.com.
