A botched robbery led a gunman to take hostages at a bank in Piraeus, Greece on Monday. According to reports, three gunmen attempted to rob the National Bank of Greece around noon. Police surrounded the building and arrested two of the suspects as they attempted to get away.
The third gunman, who told police he was also armed with a hand grenade, took over a dozen people hostage. Police apprehended the man after negotiations. The hostages were freed unharmed.
Shots were fired at some point during the situation, but no one was injured. The suspects have not been identified. No other details were available.
