A traffic jam in on the National Expressway 110 in Beijing, China is headed in to its ninth day, according to state media. The problem started on August 14 with an increase in truck traffic into the capital and was fueled by construction on the road 5 days later. Small accidents and vehicles breaking down are contributing factors.
The traffic jam stretches 62 miles long between Jining in Inner Mongolia and Huai'an in Hebei province. Drivers have complained of food and drink stands set up on the side of the road gouging prices.
Construction on the road is scheduled to last until September 13.
