Four Beheaded Men Found Hung From Bridge Near Mexico City

The mutilated and decapitated bodies of four men were found hanging from a bridge in a town near Mexico City, Mexico on Sunday. Authorities say the men, aged between 25 and 30, were hung by their ankles from a bridge outside Cuernavaca, in the state of Morelos.

The men were believed to have been caught up in the fight between Edgar Valdez and Hector Beltran Leyva for control of the successful Beltran Leyva drug cartel. A note warning against supporting Valdez was left with the heads of the men.

Valdez and Leyva have been at war over control of the cartel since its leader, Arturo Beltran Leyva, was killed in a shootout with marines in December. Hector Leyva is the brother of Arturo. Valdez is a US citizen nicknamed ‘Barbie’ for his blonde hair.
