All-Star Parade for MLB All-Star Game Set for Tuesday in NYC

The All-Star parade for the 2008 MLB All-Star Game will take place Tuesday, causing a lot of traffic in already jam-packed New York City.

The parade commemorates the 2008 MLB All-Star Game, which will take place Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at NYC's Yankee Stadium.

The parade, officially known as the Fourth Annual All-Star Game Red Carpet, will be from 1-3 p.m. from 40th Street to 58th Street in Manhattan.

Three lanes of Sixth Avenue were closed after midnight for workers to lay out the massive red carpet between 49th and 59th Streets, and the other three lanes will be shut down between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The city will also shut down 41st Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.

According to New York City Transit, several entrances to the Times Square-42nd Street, 42nd Street-Bryant Park and 57th Street subway stations are closed from 9:30 a.m. until around 6 p.m. During that time, uptown-bound M5, M6, M7 and BxM2 will run on Eighth Avenue instead of Sixth Avenue, making corresponding street stops on Eighth Avenue.

Crosstown QM1, QM1A, QM2, QM2A, QM3, QM4, QM15, QM16, QM17, QM18, QM10, QM12 and QM22 buses will stop at Madison Avenue instead of Sixth Avenue.

More than 100 past and present players, including 49 Hall of Fame members, are slated to ride in the parade.

This will be the last All-Star Game played at New York's historic Yankee Stadium, as the Yankees move to another stadium next season.
