Skylar Deleon Attempts to Saw Off Penis with Razor in Jail

Skylar Deleon, a former extra on the 90s hit show "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers", tried to saw his penis off with a razor blade on Tuesday.

Deleon, 29, who is facing trial after allegedly murdering a couple at sea to steal their yacht, has been hospitalized after trying to cut off his own penis in a mental ward.

"Somehow he got a hold of a razor blade and tried to saw off his penis, but didn't complete the job," said a spokesman from the Orange County Sheriff's Department. "We do know there was a lot of blood and it was quite a scene. But from what I know, he didn't finish his task, and maybe it was too painful and that made him stop."

His penis was reattached and he was returned to jail the next day. Deleon was in a mental health ward at the jail in Santa Ana, but he did not have a cellmate. Deleon's trial is set for Aug. 25.

Prosecutors have said that they will seek the death penalty against Deleon for the 2004 murders of Jackie and Thomas Hawks of Prescott, Ariz.

Deleon chained the couple to anchors and tossed them overboard while they were alive when the couple took him and three other men three other men on a test cruise off the Southern California coast. They are presumed to have drowned. Their bodies have not been found.
