Boycott of McDonald’s Launched by Illinois Christian Group

An Illinois Christian group has orchestrated a boycott of McDonald’s following the popular fast-food chain’s financial support of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

According to American Family Association president Tim Wildmon nearly 200,000 people have pledged to boycott McDonald’s apparent support of same-sex marriages and the homosexual lifestyle, something McDonald’s spokesman Bill Whitman has denied.

Wildmon insisted McDonald’s financial contribution amounted to the promotion of the NGLCC but Whitman commented McDonald’s does not necessarily support “a particular lifestyle or same-sex marriage.”
