People magazine interview released on Wednesday, Elin Nordegren says that she has "been through hell" since it was revealed that her now ex-husband Tiger Woods had been unfaithful to her. Nordegren, whose divorce from Woods was made official on Monday, said that she and Woods tried for months to save their marriage but to no avail. She also told
People during the interview that, despite what rumors might have had some people thinking, she never hit Tiger. "There was never any violence inside or outside our home," Nordegren said.
"The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just
truly ridiculous." According to
People magazine reporter Sandra Sobieraj Westfall, Nordegren and her team were the ones who approached the magazine for an interview, not the other way around. Westfall says that Nordegren wanted people to know three things about her: that she never hit Woods, that she didn't know about his infidelities, and that the marriage was real.
