Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has been fined by the NFL for tweeting. The NFL has nothing against tweeting per se, but it does prohibit certain use of electronic devices and posting on social media websites from 90 minutes before kickoff until the end of the game (or any post-game media obligations). Unfortunately for the 6-time Pro Bowl selection, his tweets were not timed very well. An NFL statement reports that Ochocinco's tweets appeared at 6:50 p.m. and 9:53 p.m. The kickoff for the game during which Ochocinco tweeted (Bengals vs. the Philadelphia Eagles last Friday) was at 8:07 p.m. In his 9:35 tweet, Ochocinco was simply griping: "Man Im sick of getting hit like that, its the damn preseason
[expletive]! 1day I'm gone jump up and start throwing hay makers ,
#Tylenolplease." The punishment for his untimely tweeting offense? $25,000. On Tuesday, after already having been fined, Ochocinco tweeted, "Dear NFL I apologize for tweeting during the game but that was 2 monthsof my Bugatti payments you just took from me, I won't do it again."
