How to Keep Kids Safe Going Back to School

Going back to school for a child in middle school or entering high school faces some unique challenges. If they are changing schools they enter alone and have new friend choices to make. If they are returning with friends they still face peer pressure, bullies and the increasing drug use in today's schools.

Narconon a non-profit drug prevention and rehabilitation organization offers unique publications on helping kids to remain drug-free this school year. Narconon has been around since the 1960's and has proven itself with it's highly effective drug rehabilitation technology. However, drug prevention is also an area in which they excel offering drug education lectures to school children, DVDs and drug education booklets.

For children and teens returning to school this year, there are two highly informative booklets that should be read, one for parents and one for kids. The one for Parents is called, "Keeping Your Kids Drug-Free" and is a complete family kit that provides information  including a DVD that doesn't just tell kids to "say no" but explains how drugs affect the mind and the body and gives one a clear picture as to why they shouldn't use drugs to begin with. The kit also gives information to the parent on how to talk to their teen about drugs as well as how to assist them to come off drugs if they have started using.

The second key booklet Narconon offers is titled, "Ten Things Your Friends May Not Know About Drugs." As the title implies, this booklet is written in a way to capture the interest of a child or teen and the entire book is written in a kid-friendly fashion, yet lays out the facts about drugs and their effects. It's loaded with details and illustrations of what drugs do, how they dull creativity, dull your senses and stay in your body which leads to health problems down the line in life.

The best thing about these booklets are the fact that they have  proven themselves over time and have been used successfully by parents, teachers, schools and educators in hundreds of different schools across the U.S. and even in other parts of the world.  The kids that have  received the booklets or attend the drug education lectures of Narconon show a significant decrease in drug use as shown by independent studies.

If a parent already faces a drug addiction challenge with their youth, fortunately, Narconon has a solution for that as well. Their drug rehabilitation program has an over 70% success rate which is quite different than the usual success rate of 14% with other programs. The word "Narconon" itself means "no-drug" and true to it's name Narconon doesn't use drugs to withdraw someone from drugs, thus getting the addict to simply switch his habit to a new substance. At Narconon your youth can be safely and effectively withdrawn from drugs if they have already fallen into that trap and become drug -free.
