Spanish Resorts Target of Bomb Attacks

The Basque separatist group ETA is believed to be responsible for a total of four bomb explosions in northern Spain on Sunday targeting the resort towns of Laredo and Noja.

According to authorities ETA had warned of the impending attacks to ensure the areas targeted were evacuated. The first bomb exploded on a seafront promenade around noon and a second followed in the same spot a few hours later.

To more bombs detonated about 12 miles from Laredo in the resort town of Noja.

There were no reports of casualties following the blasts.

ETA has continued their struggle to secure an independent Basque homeland in northern Spain and southwestern France.
