SmallCapVoice.com, Inc., a recognized corporate consulting firm known for its ability to help emerging growth companies build a following among retail and institutional investors, provides the following market commentary and small cap stock highlights:

Bank of America Helps Financial Extend Recent Gains

Bank of America’s smaller-than-forecast drop in profits is spurring gains in banking stocks and the rest of the market, helping shares extend the recent advance that began last week following relatively decent earnings from the largest banks in the US. A proposal to buy Genentech is also helping sentiment, while traders get ready for a number of earnings releases this week, including regional banks and major multinationals. However, a soft reading on the Leading Index took some of the steam out of the modest rally. Elsewhere, Yahoo has settled its dispute with Carl Icahn.

Bank of America is up sharply after reporting 2Q net earnings fell 41% to $3.4 billion as EPS of $0.72 easily exceeded the Reuters estimate of $0.48 per share. Revenues increased 3% to $20.3 billion. The company said it was pleased with solid results in a difficult financial environment. Outside real estate, Bank of America said operating results were “quite good” across all business segments.

In late morning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 14.09, or 0.12 percent, to 11,510.66.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index added 3.51, or 0.28 percent, to 1,264.19; and the Nasdaq composite rose 7.67, or 0.34 percent, to 2,290.45.

Bond prices are lower. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves opposite its price, edged up to 4.10 percent from 4.09 percent from late Friday.

The dollar is mixed against other major currencies, while gold prices rose.

Oil prices are higher. Light, sweet crude rose $1.14 to $130.02 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

ICP Solar Technologies Inc. (OTC BB: ICPR) is today’s hot stock to watch.

ICP Solar Technologies Inc., a developer, manufacturer and marketer of solar panels and products, today announced that they have entered into a sales contract with Nissan in Europe and North America for OEM solar charger. A discharged battery is one of the most common problems facing the automotive industry with cars sitting in parking lots for a long period of time in cold or hot conditions. The ICP Solar OEM solar charger will help reduce the related costs and will avoid strong 12V battery drain using the power of the sun.
