Close-Up TV News Recognizes Choice Logistics

Close Up TV News recognizes Choice Logistics as a leader in the field of supply-chain management.

Supply chain management is the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the operations of a given supply chain for the purpose of satisfying a customer’s service requirements as efficiently as possible.

Choice Logistics handles the last mile of supply chain management as it applies to “mission critical” logistics. High tech products like servers are sold to end-users, but the manufacturer of that equipment is still responsible for the service of these products. This equipment could be a point-of-sale cash register in the middle of Nordstrom’s, a server at a Wachovia Bank or a router at the New York Stock Exchange. These are products that simply cannot be out of commission for any extended period of time. They need to be serviced immediately.

“Regardless of how well this equipment is manufactured at some point or another it will need support,”  says Michael Katz, CEO of Choice Logistics. “But Choice Logistics, our clients and our clients’ clients don’t know where and they don’t know when. That’s why there is a demand for our services. It’s an unplanned event. It’s 3:00 am, a machine is doing processing and suddenly it stops working. Companies who are being paid million of dollars just for product support absolutely must deliver on their promise. Choice allows them to do that efficiently.”

Given the critical importance of this equipment, equipment that is being sold throughout the world, the service contract between the end user and the manufacturer (or distributor) requires that in the event equipment fails or “breaks” that problem must be resolved within 2-4 hours. Choice Logistics works in partnership to insure the financial health of each service contract in place.  Choice Logistics is focused on the warehousing, management, and delivery of critical components to the job site.

“These end users are banks, police departments, retail outlets, phone companies,  hospitals and stock exchanges,” says Katz. “Their equipment simply cannot be down for extended periods of time. The expense of these products and the criticality of getting parts on site quickly is the main focus of the Choice Logistics service solution. Managing the inventory to support the highly sensitive clients also gives our clients complete control over an external process that has tremendous impact on the end user.”
