Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is becoming a leading vice presidential candidate for Sen. John McCain. McCain is expected to name his VP this week.
McCain is traveling to Louisiana on Wednesday to meet with Gov. Jindal, showing signs that Jindal is a viable option to be McCain's vice presidential selection.
In the past, Jindal, 37, has denied any interest in being McCain's vice presidential nomination, saying that he was very happy to be heading the State of Louisiana.
Several Republicans back Jindal, such as former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, who has called Jindal "America's most transformational Governor".
Jindal would add a lot of diversity to the ticket as an Indian-American, especially facing Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, the first African-American person to lead a party ticket in a presidential campaign.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has also been under high consideration to become McCain's VP, along with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
