4th Annual WRJDC Corn Toss Classic to Take Place at the Wha Bah Steakhouse Saloon in Bowling Green, KY

Warren Regional Juvenal Detention Center chooses ACO to run Corn Toss Classic

The Warren Regional Juvenal Detention Center has once again selected the Wha Bah Steakhouse Saloon as the location of choice for its 2010 annual pitch fest.  The last four years the WRJD Corn Toss Classic has been a featured event for the Detention Center.  Local and regional players gather at the Classic to give their best pitch in corn toss competition and support to a great cause.

This year the WRJD Center has chosen American Cornhole Organization, the ACO, to sanction the tournament for this special event in return for in-kind marketing efforts to build up the event. The ACO specializes in running social and professional corn toss tournaments.

“Bringing the ACO National Cornhole Tournament experience to our annual event will make it that much more special, we couldn’t be more excited,”  said Myron Dockery, Fiscal Manager WRJDC.

Mark your calendar for September 25, 2010. The Wha Bah Steakhouse Saloon, in Bowling Green, Kentucky is the place to be.  A doubles tournament will take place from 12pm-4pm and winners will take home cash prizes. Come alone, bring a neighbor, or your corn toss buddy and plan on a pitching good time.

Proceeds from the 2010 Corn Toss Classic provide the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center’s Citizen Advisory Committee with the means to fund several programs and projects for “at risk” youth in South Central Kentucky.  The majority of the proceeds from this tournament fund the College Heights Scholarship fund, which allows youth detained at WRJDC to enroll in college courses through Western Kentucky University.  Recently, proceeds have purchased books for the WRJDC library, supported facility programming, and purchased equipment to further the educational needs of the youth population at WRJDC.

The Mission of the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center is to provide a safe, secure, and caring facility for youth who require secure detention for their own protection, or that of the community, as well as to assure their appearance as needed for legal proceedings. WRJDC services 15 counties in the South Central Kentucky area.  Annually approximately 1500 youth pass through the doors of WRJDC.

Plan today for fun at the WRJD Corn Toss Classic on September 25, 2010.
