A-Rod Signs Deal with William Morris Agency

New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez signed with William Morris Agency on Tuesday in a move to expand his brand outside of baseball.

Rodriguez, affectionately known as A-Rod, signed with the powerhouse talent agency in Beverly Hills, adding to William Morris Agency's extensive list of star clients in entertainment, music and business.

William Morris Agency (WMA) has worked with sports stars Dwyane Wade, Serena Williams and Kevin Garnett, as well as such movie stars as Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Quentin Tarantino and Scarlett Johansson.

The Wall Street Journal broke the story about the deal, which was brokered by Rodriguez's agent Guy Oseary, who is also the agent for Madonna, whom A-Rod is rumored to be having an affair with.

A-Rod's celebrity received more attention after the rumors with Madonna, which sparked the subsequent divorce filing by his wife Cynthia.

A-Rod, 32, is a three-time MVP with 539 career home runs. He is currently on pace to pass Barry Bonds on the career list.

Rodriguez is drawing a major league-high $27 million salary this year and last December signed a record 10-year, $275 million contract with New York. The deal that allows him to make up to $305 million if he reaches certain milestones.
