Passengers on a British Airways flight from London to Hong Kong on Tuesday began to panic after an automated message warning them they were about to crash into the sea was played. The message was mistakenly played and flight attendants quickly assured the 275 passengers that the plane was not about to crash.
"Our cabin crew immediately made an announcement following the message advising customers that it was played in error and that the flight would continue as normal," British Airways said in a statement.
The airline says they have apologized for the message and are investigating how it was accidentally triggered.
