According to an anonymous league source, LA Dodgers star Manny Ramirez is expected to join the Chicago White Sox on Monday. The move will likely be a straight waver claim, according to various reports, but there is also reportedly some possibility that Ramirez might be traded to the White Sox in exchange for some prospects. According to sources, the White Sox are hoping that Ramirez will give them the extra kick that they need in order to make a successful playoff run; if he joins the White Sox, this 2004 American League home run leader will probably be their designated hitter. Even though he is approaching the age of 40, Ramirez helped the Dodgers make it to the postseason when he was signed to that team not too long ago in 2008. Further, Ramirez is one of the greatest hitters in MLB history and has proven himself on multiple occasions; he has 9 Silver Slugger Awards, 2 World Series titles, a World Series MVP title, 12 All-Star selections, and various other accomplishments to his name. The only question is, will 38-year-old Ramirez, who has made three appearances on the DL this last year, be the vital force that the White Sox likely need in order to make it to the postseason?
