Mad Men and Modern Family Win Big at Emmy's

Old Favorite and Newcomer Win at Emmy's

In case you missed the 2010 Emmy Awards last night, let us recap some of the biggest wins of the night. Mad Men, the hit AMC drama series, took home its third consecutive Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. A wildly popular and successful series since its inception in 2008, Mad Men beat out such other great dramas as True Blood, Dexter, and Breaking Bad to win the coveted Drama Emmy. In the comedy arena, newcomer Modern Family beat such "old" fan-favorites as The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and 30 Rock to win the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. Glee, which was arguably the most original of all the nominated newcomers, did not go home empty either. Jane Lynch, who stars as the quirky Sue Sylvester on the comedy/musical series, won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series; Ryan Murphy won for Outstanding Director for a Comedy Series; and Neil Patrick Harris won for his role as Bryan Ryan. Other notable winners include Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) for Oustanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) for Lead Actress in Drama, and Al Pacino for playing Dr. Kevorkian in a miniseries about the notorious doctor.
