Aaron Mohanlal, Convicted Child Molester, Hasn’t Served 43 Year Term

A South Florida middle school art teacher who was convicted of molesting a male student has not served any of his 43-year sentence. Aaron Mohanlal was convicted of 13 counts of child abuse, molestation and lewd battery last summer. A judge sentenced him to 43 years in prison.

Several weeks after the trial, Mohanlal was granted a rare bond that allows him to stay out of jail while his case is tried on appeal.

Mohanlal was arrested in 2005. He forced one of his 13-year-old male students to have sex with him in a supply closet. Sometimes, he would take off of work and take the boy home with him to have sex before dropping him off at school at the end of the day.

“I can’t understand why he isn’t behind bars. I want to move on with my life. I’m trying to graduate high school and forget about this. I try not to think about it, but it’s hard because all I can think about is what if he’s out there around other kids?” the now 18-year-old victim says.
