Kwon Jon Nim Bernard Zanoni Receives Masters Hall of Fame Award in Anaheim, CA

Anaheim, CA - Bernard “Bernie” Zanoni, owner of Omega White Tiger Martial Arts School in Aurora, CO, was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame at the Eleventh Annual Awards Ceremony at the Anaheim Hilton on Saturday, June 19, 2010. Sensei Zanoni is a 3rd Dan in the Omega Tao System and a 1st Dan/Shodan in Toyama-Ryu, and was awarded the title of Kwon Jon Nim in 2009. He also studies judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu with the goal of attaining black belt in each of these disciplines. Sensei Zanoni has competed at local, regional, and national contests and in two international competitons with the World Congress of Martial Arts. All this in a martial arts career that only began in the summer of 2000.

“It was quite a shock to be nominated and accepted into the Masters Hall of Fame,” said Sensei Zanoni after his induction. “I never expected to receive this honor, and I am so very appreciative to Sensei Abbott for believing in me enough to nominate me as a Pioneer in Martial Arts.”

Omega Martial Arts was developed in 1982 by Dr. Bob Davis and is a blended art, comprising elements of Tae Kwon Do, American Boxing, Karate, Isshinru, Judo, Jujitsu, Traditional Weaponry, Street Smart Self-Defense and Shipasho "18 postures" (the ancient family art from China). Among the weapons used in Omega are sticks (Arnis stick fighting), bo, sai, tonfa, nunchakus, kama, sword, 3-section staff, 9-section chain and rope dart. Sensei Zanoni is proud of the fact that all Omega instructors are trained not only in the martial arts but in communication skills and in working with special needs students.

Omega White Tiger, the martial arts school Sensei Zanoni founded in November, 2007, focuses on teaching martial arts “in a loving, caring environment,” and has been so successful that a second school was recently opened in Elizabeth, CO. In addition to Omega Tao, the school also teaches judo and grappling, Chanbara, self-defense, and gymnastic kicking classes.
