Kashmir Explosion Kills Four Children, Woman, at least 21 Injured

An explosion in the Indian-controlled Kashmir region has left at least four children and one woman dead and another 21 injured.

Police suspect militants had been targeting paramilitary troops but the explosion outside a crowded Srinagar bus station claimed only civilian lives.

It was unclear if the attackers used a bomb or grenade.

India and Pakistan both claim the entire Kashmir region as their own and have been involved in two wars over the region, the first in 1947 and the second in 1965. Both wars were followed by internal conflict within the region that has left scores dead.
