Pack of Giant Kamchatka Brown Bears Eats Two Guards in Mining Area

A pack of giant brown bears in the Russian region of Kamchatka attacked and ate two guards assigned to a mining area and has left the remaining workers too terrified to venture out for help.

The workers found the mangled bodies of the two guards and for the past week the miners have refused to go to work out of fear the bears may attack them.

Reports have indicated as many as 30 bears in Kamchatka have been sited roaming the area where the attack occurred. Local officials in the Olyotorsky district have dispatched snipers to the remote area with orders to kill the bears but it could be several more days before they reach the area.
