Qantas Airways Flight Forced to Make Emergency Landing after Massive Hole in Fuselage

A Qantas Airways flight from London to Melbourne was forced to make an emergency landing in Manila after a large hole appeared in its fuselage.

The Boeing 747-400 had made a stop in Hong Kong and was back in the air for Melbourne when a loud bang was heard and the plane made a sudden descent. The plane was brought from 29,000 feet to 10,000 feet and after making the emergency landing a hole about 2.5m to 3m was discovered in the fuselage.

The captain was forced to bring the flight down from 29,000 feet to 10,000 feet to level out the cabin pressure and provide breathable air for passengers, at 29,000 feet temperatures are freezing and the air does not contain an adequate amount of oxygen to breathe.

After making the landing several passengers vomited but none of the 345 passengers were injured.

It remains unclear what caused the large hole on the Qantas flight but engineers were investigating the plane.
