Steve Fortuna of Kopy Katz Talks About Music Venues with Rebecca Firth of YourFindit

Kopy Katz drummer and vocalist Steve Fortuna took some time out to talk with YourFindit’s Rebecca Firth about the pros and cons of smaller venues.  Fortuna is an experienced musician having played on multiple cruise ships and Broadway shows such as Pippin and Jesus Christ Superstar.

Having years of experience as a musician and performing anywhere from large to smaller venues, Fortuna favors the medium sized venue.  He says that the venue’s layout plays an important role in the band’s sound.  Depending on the style of music, Fortuna mentions a few Atlanta area venues such as Eddy’s Attic and Jonny’s Hideaway.  Nemo’s and Ray’s River Room are great for jazz music and Smith’s Olde Bar is great to hear drums and bass.

Steve Fortuna will be playing with the Kopy Katz on Friday, July 25 at The Breakers in Jonesboro, Georgia.  The band will also be performing for private parties and is considering a weekly gig at Winston’s in Kennesaw.
