A 15-year-old Stony Mountain, Manitoba boy was killed on Friday after he was buried under hot asphalt while working on a construction site.
According to reports the teen had been working with a paving crew when a truck dumped too much asphalt and the boy was quickly swallowed.
Witnesses on the scene described a searing pile of asphalt with hair sticking out the top and while they worked to free the boy he was declared dead on the scene.
Under Manitoba law it is illegal for anyone under 16 to work on a construction site. Police and labor officials are investigating the case.
