These days, even artists are broadcasting the controversial issue of millions of children diagnosed with ADHD. Citizens Commission on Human Rights Florida (CCHR Florida), a long-time advocate for parental rights, has recently joined with rapper and humanitarian Chill E. B. to help spread the message. Chill E. B. recently garnered attention for his music video Y’all Busted, exposing the rampant psychiatric drugging in schools. On Sunday September 26th, CCHR Florida will hold a Block Party, where Chill E. B. will be on hand to announce the finalists of a nationwide song contest – a contest started to help raise awareness. The Block Party will be held at PostcardMania, 2145 Sunnydale Blvd, Building 102, Clearwater, FL.
In the 1950’s, ADHD did not exist. In 1970, 2,000 children were diagnosed as being “hyperactive”. By 2006, a staggering 8 to 10 million children had been diagnosed with ADHD. A vast majority of these children who have been diagnosed have been given daily doses of methylphenidate – a drug correlated with disorientation, personality changes, apathy, social isolation, suicide and sudden death.
However, most parents are not informed of the harmful side effects of these drugs. They are not told there are no medical tests to prove that one single mental health disorder exists, and they are not informed of their rights to refuse to medicate their children.
This gap in knowledge is precisely why CCHR Florida is holding the song contest.
“Music and poetry are universal languages that can be used to communicate the truth to millions of families,” says Laurie Anspach, Executive Director of CCHR Florida, known for their exposure of psychiatric fraud and misconduct in the state.
Ten finalists from the national contest will be chosen by September 14th. A panel of music professionals, including Chill E. B., will judge the final videos and decide on the top three during the Block Party. The top three videos chosen from all contestants will be heavily promoted on YouTube, with the grand prize winner receiving studio session time at the state-of-the-art ClearTrack Productions recording studio, in Downtown Clearwater.
The Block Party will also include a performance of “Y’all Busted” from Chill E. B., and a performance from a Clearwater local youth, Sally Gatza.
Tickets, which are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door, are available at (727)-443-8820.
The Block Party will take place on Sunday, September 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at PostcardMania, 2145 Sunnydale Blvd, Building 102, Clearwater, FL.
