Shootout in Mexico Leaves 25 Dead, 2 Wounded

Mexican soldiers killed 25 suspected drug dealers in a shootout Thursday in northeast Mexico. The shootout began when anti-drug forces flying over Ciudad Mier spotted armed men in front of a building. When the men noticed they were being watched, they fled in vehicles.

Soldiers were sent to investigate and met with gunfire at the building. Two soldiers were wounded in the shootout. A collection of weapons was found inside the building. The collection included 25 rifles, 4 grenades, and hundreds of cartridges and magazines for various weapons. Twenty three vehicles were also discovered. Two of them were painted to look like military vehicles. Three people being held by the suspects were rescued.
