Warner Bros Records artist Jay Rock and multi-platinum artist Lil Wayne have chosen maniaTV partner, Guerilla Hollywood to produce their newest music video for their hit single “All My Life”. Michael “The Greek” Mihail will direct this video depiction of Jay Rock’s life. The music video will portray the Watts neighborhood in Los Angeles where Jay Rock grew up and feature numerous vignettes of real families and locations that played a part in Rock’s life. All the studio production was done at maniaTV’s head quarters in Los Angeles. Jay Rock is scheduled to release his full-length industry supported studio album, Follow Me Home, on Warner Brothers Records in late 2008.
"The chemistry between Lil Wayne and Jay Rock is bananas on this track” said maniaTV senior producer and Guerilla Hollywood video director, Michael Mihail. “We are trying to make the energy of the song bleed through the film, and with guys like Lil Wayne and Jay Rock pumping creative energy in the studio taping, it’s shaping up to do just that”.
"maniaTV moved its production facilities to Los Angeles specifically to be able to get in the middle of exciting work like this” said Head of Music Programming, Stefan Goldby. “Having music videos from exciting new artists and appearances from the biggest-selling artist of the year shot at our studio perfectly aligns with maniaTV's mission to facilitate the creation of premium content for distribution on maniaTV and all around the world."
About Jay Rock
For some newly signed artists, the moment of truth arrives when they see their first post-deal bank statement. Born and raised in California, Watts rapper Jay Rock seized that moment. The first individual, male or female, from the famous Nickerson Gardens Projects to sign any type of record deal, Jay Rock knows he is blessed. Fortunate to be in the position he currently holds, regardless of career longevity or stature in the industry, the West Coast rapper simply enjoys knowing he made something of his life. Already signed to the independent entertainment company, Top Dawg, Rock brokered a deal with major player Warner Bros., who will release his debut album “Follow Me Home” this fall.
