Turkish Jets Target PKK Hideout, Several Killed

Two days after an alleged PKK bomb attack in Istanbul killed 17 people the Turkish army responded by bombing a suspected hideout in Northern Iraq, killing an unspecified number of militants.

Turkey’s government has blamed the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) for the deadly attacks on Sunday inside the country’s capital.

For more than 20 years Kurdish militants have staged a military campaign against Turkey in an effort to establish an independent, self-ruled territory in south- east Turkey.

Tuesday’s attacks on the PKK hideout killed an unspecified number of militants in the Qandil mountain region of Iraq.
