World Trade Talks Collapse in Geneva after Farm Trading Reforms Falter

The World Trade Organization’s efforts to open global trading as a means of stimulating economic growth and reducing poverty has taken a hit after talks in Geneva ended without a deal in place.

Delegates had been trying to come to an agreement on how to ease current international trade rules but talks collapsed after farm trading rules caused an impasse between the United States, China and India.

There have been no announced plans to rekindle talks.
