Ted Stevens, Alaska Senator, Indicted by Justice Department

Alaska Senator Ted Stevens has been indicted by the U.S. Justice Department following a lengthy investigation into the Republican’s business dealings in his home state.

Stevens, who has spent more than four decades in the Senate, had been under investigation for more than a year. Much of that investigation surrounded his alleged involvement in paying employees to work on his house.

Stevens has denied any wrongdoing.
