Chino Hills Earthquake Downgraded to 5.4, Aftershocks Throughout Los Angeles Area

The Los Angeles area of Chino Hills was hit by a 5.4-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday, causing buildings to sway and roads to buckle in some spots.

While there have been no reports of significant injuries there have been as many as 29 aftershocks reported since the initial temblor struck at 11:42 a.m. and lasted for less than 30 seconds.

Considered a moderate earthquake, the damage appeared to be restricted to falling items and some broken windows.

The earthquake was felt from Los Angeles to San  Diego with some reports the quake was felt in Las Vegas.
