Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Named World’s Busiest Terminal

Atlanta could already claim the title for world’s busiest airport but now it can add world’s busiest terminal to its resume as the Airports Council International placed Hartsfield International atop their annual list on Tuesday.

Hartsfield International was the clear winner with 89.4 million passengers; its closest competitor was Chicago’s O’Hare which handled 76 million passengers.

London’s Heathrow landed at third with 68 million while Tokyo Haneda handled 67 million and Los Angeles rounded out the top five with 62 million.

As for largest cargo airport in the world, that honor went to Memphis, the hub of FedEx airlines.
