"Princess Chunk", 44-Pound Cat, Really A Boy Named "Powder"

Princess Chunk, a 44-pound cat that was found in an animal shelter in New Jersey on Wednesday, is actually a boy. The newly-nicknamed Prince Chunk was rescued after shelter officials found it this weekend.

On Saturday, the chunky 44-pound cat was seen walking around Voorhees, NJ without a leash. Officials at the Camden County Animal Shelter took the 44-lb. cat into its care and nicknamed it "Princess Chunk". Since the discovery of its true gender, the 44-pound cat was been nicknamed "Prince Chunk".

On Thursday, an elderly woman called the animal shelter and said that she was the owner of the cat. Apparently, she lost her home due to foreclosure and could not keep the cat, whom she named "Powder".

The "fat cat" was featured on Fox News and "Regis and Kelly" on Thursday, and will appear on Good Morning America on Friday. "Powder" is also scheduled to meet the public at the shelter's pet "adopt-a-thon" at a pet store in Cherry Hill on Aug. 17.

The largest tabby on record weighed 46 pounds, 15 ounces. That cat, who lived in Australia, died in the 1980s. The Guinness World Records has since dropped the category, fearing cat owners might harm their animals in an attempt to break the record.
