Rampage Along Wisconsin-Michigan Border Leaves Three Dead, One Injured

Three people were killed and a fourth injured after a man wearing camouflage clothing emerged from a wooded area along the border of Wisconsin and Michigan and opened fire on a small group who had gathered to go swimming.

Law enforcement officials from at least ten agencies are now searching for the shooter and have set up roadblocks hoping to limit his mobility.

The man was last seen near Niagara, just across the state line from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

According to police reports the man used an assault rifle to kill the three teenagers, aged 17, 18 and 19 and injure a 20-year-old. The group had been near a railroad bridge on the Menominee River around 5:30 p.m. when the shootings began.
