Jury in London Bomb Plot Trial Dismissed
A Kingston Crown Court Justice dismissed the jury assigned to the trial of three men accused of plotting the deadly July 7, 2005 London bombings after the foreman revealed they could not reach a verdict.
The three men, the only three to be charged in the 7/7 attacks that killed 52 and left several more injured, will likely face retrial. Waheed Ali, Sadeer Saleem and Mohammed Shakil have denied charges that they helped plot the attack and called the trial politically motivated.
The trial had focused on the three men’s 2004 visit to London in which prosecutors say they carried out a dry run of the attacks. Police have said it was during that visit that the targets of the attack were mapped.
