Montauk Monster Washes Ashore on New York Beach

An unknown creature washed ashore a beach in Montauk, New York. The animal has been dubbed the “Montauk Monster” and several theories as to its identity have been suggested.

The Montauk monster has a hairless, leather-like body, and what appears to be a beak. Some believe it may be a shell-less sea turtle while others believe it could be a dog, providing that the ‘beak’ is actually the nasal cavity.

Animal control was called to pick up the animal but witnesses say a man took the animal home to mount it.

“We were looking for a place to sit when we saw some people looking at something,” says a witness. “We were kind of amazed; shocked and amazed.”
