Beacon Roofing Supply, Inc. is engaged in the distribution of residential, non-residential roofing materials and other complementary building materials in the United States and Canada. The Company operates 178 branches in 34 states and three Canadian provinces, carrying up to 10,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) and serving more than 40,000 customers. It is also a distributor of roofing materials in the United States and in Eastern Canada.

During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2007 (fiscal 2007), the residential roofing products comprised 42% of the sales, non-residential roofing products accounted for 36% of the sales, and siding, waterproofing systems, windows, specialty lumber and other exterior building products provided the remaining 22% of the sales. On April 2, 2007, the Company purchased 100% of North Coast Commercial Roofing Systems, Inc. On August 30, 2006, the Company purchased certain assets of Roofing & Sheet Metal Supply, Inc. (RSM).
