Drunk Bus Driver Kills 22 People in India

A bus plunged into a river in central India Wednesday, killing at least 22 people and injuring 25 others. Police say the bus was carrying around 80 passengers. At least 40 passengers were able to swim to shore while 3 passengers are still missing.

The bus skidded off a flooded bridge in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Indian authorities say the driver was drunk. According to the World Health Organization, Indian roads have the highest death toll in the world.
