Morgan Freeman, Star of “The Dark Knight," Seriously Injured in Car Accident

Morgan Freeman, star of the blockbuster hit “The Dark Knight” and Academy Award winner for his role in "Million Dollar Baby," was seriously injured in a car accident in Mississippi late Sunday night and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

The 71-year-old had been traveling along Highway 32 when his car reportedly left the road and flipped several times. Rescue workers had to pull Freeman, along with a female passenger, from the wrecked vehicle before airlifting the star.

Freeman has starred in some of Hollywood’s biggest movies including “Gone Baby Gone,” "Wanted,” “The Shawshank Redemption,” “War of the Worlds,” and “Batman Begins.”
