Dean of Kansas College in Serious Condition After Knife Attack

The dean of the Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Missouri is in serious condition after a man attacked him with a knife. According to reports, a man in his 20s walked up to the dean around 9:40 a.m. in the Humanities Building and slashed his throat. Witnesses restrained the suspect and called police.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon was set to give a speech at the college but canceled after the attack. Police do not believe Nixon was the intended target.

Authorities have not identified the victim or the suspect.
