Tremayne Durham Pleads Guilty to Murder in Exchange for Junk Food

Tremayne Durham, a murder suspect in Oregon, agreed Thursday to a plea deal for the murder in exchange for junk food.

Durham confessed to a 2006 homicide of Adam Calbreath, but the plea was contingent upon a unique list of requests by the defendant.

In exchange for his plea, Durham is allowed to eat junk food for a couple of days in prison. His allowed menu includes fried chicken from both KFC and Popeye's, mashed potatoes, calzones, lasagna, pizza, carrot cake and ice cream.

Due to Durham's unique request, he became known as the "fried chicken killer" despite the fact that his murder had nothing to do with the food.

Durham was sentence to life in prison with the possibility of release after 30 years for Adam Calbreath's murder. Adam, 39, also had a son.

Durham, a New York resident and convicted rapist, ordered an $18,000 ice cream truck from an Oregon company. When Durham changed his mind, the company wouldn't refund the money.

Durham then came to Oregon and killed Calbreath, a former employee of the company, while looking for the owner, Rob Chambers.
