5 Armed Men, 1 Woman Arrested Near Cancun, Mexico

Mexican authorities say 5 armed men and 1 woman were arrested in the town of Rancho Viejo on Wednesday. The group was heavily armed with weapons, including handguns and 3 grenades. They were also carrying marijuana.

It is unclear if they are members of a drug cartel and if they were planning an attack during Wednesday’s independence festivities.

Rancho Viejo is located in the state of Quintana Roo near Cancun, one of Mexico’s biggest tourist cities.
