John Edwards Alleged Affair May Affect Role at Democratic National Convention

At one time John Edwards was the most prized endorsement among Democratic candidates Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton but now that the former North Carolina senator has had his name tied to an alleged affair with video producer Rielle Hunter the Democratic Party has taken a collective step back and that could affect his role at the Democratic National Convention.

The DNC is scheduled to take place in Denver in three weeks and Edwards had been a favorite to be a lead speaker at the nomination process but that role has become doubtful due to his reluctance to refute the affair allegations made by The National Enquirer.

It is believed that Edwards may have damaged his reputation as a legitimate voice of the Democratic Party by failing to deny the affair as well as the supposed child he fathered with Hunter. Over the past several weeks Edwards has only said he would not respond to baseless accusations made by tabloid press.

Not only has the allegation damaged Edwards potential role at the Democratic National Convention, it has all but ended any speculation that Barack Obama may give the vice presidential nod to him.
