Gunman at Johns Hopkins Hospital Kills 1, Commits Suicide

Baltimore police say the man who shot and wounded a doctor at Johns Hopkins Hospital Thursday morning is dead. The man, who has been described as an African American in his 30s, killed one person before turning the gun on himself and committing suicide.

The man, who was reportedly angry at the treatment his mother was receiving at Johns Hopkins, shot a doctor just after 11 a.m. He then barricaded himself in a room on the eighth floor. Several reports indicate he was holed up with a family member. Police have not confirmed those reports.

The wounded doctor underwent surgery and is expected to survive. Identities of the doctor, the gunman and the person who was killed have not been released.
