University of South Florida Hosts Academic Summer Camp

SuperCamp announced today that it will hold its first south-east academic summer camp at University of Southern Florida in the summer of 2011.

This announcement brings the number of locations to eight where the summer academic program will have pre-teen and teen summer camps in 2011. University of Southern Florida is just one of the locations for SuperCamp next year, in addition to UCLA and Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles and Brown University.

"We're very excited about adding USF to our roster of host schools for SuperCamp," said SuperCamp president, Bobbi DePorter. "Being in Florida is  ideal for students and families throughout the southern and southeastern states."

This is the 30th year that SuperCamp's educational summer camps have been providing learning and life skills training to students. In that time, over 55,000 students have graduated from the summer enrichment program, including many second-generation SuperCampers.

SuperCamp helps students improve their grades through new learning skills that include learning how to learn. Students also gain an understanding of their dominant learning style, which helps them achieve greater success when they return to school.

The 7-day and 10-day SuperCamp curriculum also includes life skills instruction in such areas as communication, leadership, critical thinking, character development, and problem solving. These life skills enable students to gain confidence, motivation and self-esteem, which is reflected in better school grades, improved peer group and family relationships, and a more goal-oriented focus on the future.

The popularity of SuperCamp's programs combined with the appeal of the camp locations all but guarantee that the programs will fill up well before summer, so Ms. DePorter urges interested families to look into SuperCamp immediately to ensure their first choice in schools and dates.
