Italian Police Arrest Five North Africans on Charges of Conspiring to Commit Acts of Terrorism

Italian police have arrested five North Africans and charged them with conspiracy to commit acts of international terrorism.

The four Tunisians and one Moroccan were believed to be part of a ring that was recruiting suicide bombers for terrorist acts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

After gathering information through phone taps Italian police raided houses and apartments in Bologna, Ravenna and Como.

A sixth suspect is still being sought by police.
