2008 Beijing Olympics Results: Nicole Cooke Claims Gold for Great Britain in Women’s Road Cycling

Nicole Cooke earned Olympic gold on Sunday as the Welsh cyclist claimed the Women’s Road Cycling road race in 3 hours, 32 minutes and 24 seconds.

Cooke, who finished in fifth place in the event at the 2004 Athens Games, finished just ahead of Sweden’s Emma Johansson and Italy’s Tatiana Guderzo.

The win for Cooke was Great Britain’s first gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics
